Architecture and Performance Event

negative_spaceContact, Manchester has been working with architects, Sheppard Robson, to plan a major refurbishment of the venue. The renovation will provide more opportunities and activities for young people and the local community, enabling Contact to continue its valued artistic and creative programming, and create a livelier welcoming space for everyone.

The planning process is raising a number of questions about theatre spaces in the 21st Century that you are invited to come and talk about in a special public discussion event 5-7pm, Contact Space 2, Weds 2nd March before Reckless Sleepers’ architectural performance piece Negative Space.

The panel discussion will explore the complex relationship between architecture, design, space and performance. With Mole Wetherell (Reckless Sleepers), Matt Fenton (Contact), Kate Dorney (University of Manchester), James Jones (Sheppard Robson), Emily Crompton (MMU), Amy Hanley (MMU) and Simon Parry (University of Manchester)
